Sidenote does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data with Google, the developer, or any third party.

Data Sidenote stores Sidenote stores the following types of user-provided content, entirely on your own device:

• Notes you write
• Todo lists and items you create
• Screenshots you capture of web pages
• Annotations you draw on web pages (temporary, not saved after closing)
• Your theme and app-lock preferences

How it’s stored All data is stored locally using Chrome’s built-in storage APIs (chrome.storage and IndexedDB), scoped to your own browser profile. Sidenote does not operate any server, does not use analytics or tracking, and does not make any network requests. Your data never leaves your device.

Optional app-lock If enabled, your passcode is hashed and stored locally to gate access to the popup. This is an access lock, not encryption — the underlying notes, todos, and screenshots are not encrypted at rest.

Permissions Sidenote requests the minimum permissions needed to function:

• storage: to save your notes, todos, and settings locally
• activeTab / scripting: to display the on-page toolbar and capture a screenshot, only when you explicitly trigger it

Deleting your data Uninstalling Sidenote permanently deletes all locally stored data. You can also delete individual notes, lists, or screenshots at any time from within the extension.

Changes to this policy If this policy changes, the “Effective date” above will be updated.
